Working hours of the dispensary:
Morning (OPD)
7.30 A.M. to 1.30 P.M.
Limited (Emergency) Services (at 24 hr. Functional Dispensaries only)
1.30 P.M. - 7. 30P.M. and
7.30 P.M. - 7.30 A.M. next day
Holidays: (at 24 hr. Functional Dispensaries only)
7.30 A.M.- l.30P.M.
1.30 P.M.- 7.30P.M. and
7.30 P.M. - 7.30 A.M. next day

Registration Timings:
The registration will be stopped 15 minutes before scheduled closing time of dispensary. However, no serious patient shall be returned back unattended in the dispensary.

Timing is one of the reason for conflict in the dispensary. One should know the Registration Timings and  Working hours of the dispensary.

• CGHS token card
• Undertaking from parents that the child is not suffering from chronic diseases like epilepsy,depression, major psychosis, tuberculosis etc.
• Vaccination report  against the typhoid  fever.
• Report of haemogram and urine examination.
• For NCC and Admission to colleges  Eye specialist consultation for refraction and colour blindness.

Leflunomide (Arava)

Leflunomide (Arava)

Leflunomide (Arava) is a costly medicine. It is a DMARD (Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs ).
It is supplied through the dispensaries and a copy of the prescription is kept.

Drug Name Leflunomide (Arava) -- First new DMARD approved in more than 10 years. Blocks autoimmune antibodies and reduces inflammation. Inhibits dihydroorotate dehydrogenase, an enzyme in the de novo pyrimidine synthesis pathway. Studies indicate that it reduces symptoms, possibly better than MTX, and may even slow progression of RA. Use with caution in renal insufficiency
Adult Dose Initial: 100 mg/d PO for 3 d
Maintenance dose: 10-20 mg/d PO Pediatric Dose Not established
Contraindications Documented hypersensitivity Interactions Cholestyramine and charcoal reduce effects; concomitant rifampin increases toxicity
Pregnancy X - Contraindicated in pregnancy
Precautions Serious adverse reactions include hepatotoxicity and immunosuppression; other reactions include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, rash, bronchitis, headache, hypertension, dizziness, and alopecia; caution if impaired liver or renal function or if immunodeficient; leflunomide is a prodrug and active metabolite has a very long plasma half-life (approximately 15 d); with serious toxicity, can be cleared more quickly using cholestyramine 8 mg tid

Improvement in CGHS dispensary

CGHS Kidwai Nagar dispensary stood third among the 31 dispensaries in south zone for the first time.

Improvement in CGHS dispensary

• Its a team job.
• Its a continuous process.
• Its possible only when there is harmony among the doctors and staff.
• Any thing done for the benefit of beneficiaries will improve the functioning of dispensary.
• It requires best relations with the CPWD team, Area Welfare officer, Grievance committee members.
• Best behavior with the beneficiaries especially with the senior citizens is also a tool for the best working atmosphere.
• Liberal provision of medicines on the authority slip in case of emergency has also increased the satisfaction level among the beneficiaries in the dispensary.
• Working in the Hindi ( the mother tongue ) makes communication simple and improve the working.
• Providing better facilities to our colleagues and staff members, build confidence towards the CMO I/C.
• Setting example in discipline and honesty by the CMO I/C also creates a better atmosphere.
• It requires dedication.
• For the best result, one has to give his best and has to do some extra effort. Mrs Saravjeet kaur and Suresh Pal put that extra effort in the dispensary and every one has seen the result (dispensary stood third among the 31 dispensaries in south zone for the first time).

Working of CGHS dispensary 1

I am working as CMO I/C at Kidwai Nagar Dispensary since 8Th Nov 2006. I will be writing about workings of the dispensary.

Today I came to know that we doctors have to write our C R in new format. I inquired at the ministry site. I found same format of C R which has been given to us. CMO I/C has to write the C R of all the doctors working in dispensary irrespective of designation or seniority.

Computer installation work in dispensary started.We received 12 computers. But we require 14 . So I asked the person to put wire in emergency room and dressing rooms also. In case we require computer in emergency, we can shift computer from adjacent room after routine working hours.
